The problem
Energy operators running remote sites need constant visibility into equipment in the field, but the data this requires is expensive to move. Canada has some of the highest data prices in the world, so continuous remote monitoring quickly becomes a major operating cost. Operators are forced to choose between staying informed and keeping data bills under control.
What we did
We helped build RemComms Hub, a remote monitoring and control platform that optimises data packets so operators get real-time visibility without the runaway data costs. It pairs packet optimisation with edge computing and AI-powered predictive maintenance, collecting, analysing, and visualising field data while flagging issues before they cause downtime. It works across devices and integrates with existing infrastructure, serving control centres in oil and gas, wind farms, and microgrids.
The outcome
Real-time oversight of remote operations at a fraction of the usual data cost, with fewer outages and stronger safety and environmental performance.
