The venture
BSD Education is a venture our founder, Nickey, started back in 2013 and has grown ever since. What began in an empty room with a single idea became a global EdTech brand. Today it spans two sides of one mission: an online platform that educators around the world use to teach a curated, modern technology curriculum, and an in-person academy that trains young people directly through schools and institutes. Together they reach nearly 500,000 students across 58 countries.
What it took
Nickey did not just build the technology. He led the business. He architected and shipped the platform end to end, from product design and development through DevOps, security, and monitoring, then hired and grew the team that now carries it. He stood up operations in multiple countries and navigated the complex, high-stakes world of student data and privacy across very different jurisdictions, from New York public schools to Japan’s Ministry of Education, where the bar for trust is unforgiving. Alongside the build he ran board-level KPIs, shareholder communication, and fundraising, and developed AI models that personalise how each student learns.
The outcome
A global EdTech platform powering nearly 500,000 students across 58 countries, working with thousands of schools and generating millions in revenue, built and operated hands-on over more than a decade. It is the clearest proof of what the collective does: take something from zero and run it for the long haul.
