The venture
BSD Education is a venture our founder, Nickey, started 13 years ago and has grown ever since. What began in an empty room became a global EdTech brand, spanning an online platform that educators use to teach a curated technology curriculum and an in-person academy that trains young people through schools and institutes. Today it reaches nearly 500,000 students across 58 countries.
What it took
Nickey did not just build the technology. He led the business. He architected and shipped the platform end to end, from design and development through DevOps and monitoring, then hired and grew the team behind it. He stood up operations in multiple countries and navigated the complex, high-stakes world of student data and privacy across very different jurisdictions, from New York public schools to Japan’s Ministry of Education. Alongside all of that, he ran board-level KPIs, shareholder communication, and fundraising, and developed AI models to personalize how students learn.
