The problem
A new generation of blockchain applications promises to change how people bank, transact and interact, but accessing them is still too hard for most ordinary users. Using these apps generally requires technical knowledge to set up and connect a third-party wallet, and the volatility of cryptocurrencies adds risk and confusion. What people want is a trusted payment method and an easy-to-use interface, neither of which the current landscape provides.
What we did
We helped build Dappin, a browser and store for discovering and using decentralised apps, paired with a built-in wallet so users do not need to connect a third-party tool or expose their funds. To smooth payments, we use a smart-contract stablecoin pegged to a national currency, removing much of the volatility that makes crypto hard to use. Non-technical users can reach a whole new class of finance and gaming apps in one place, while developers gain a profitable channel to distribute what they build.
The outcome
We give everyday users a safe, simple way into decentralised apps and give developers a store in which to reach them.
