The problem
Homeowners often struggle to diagnose and fix common appliance problems, leading to costly repairs and wasted time. Traditional methods mean hours spent digging through manuals and online videos, only to then schedule a technician and wait for them to arrive. The whole process is slow and expensive.
What we did
We helped build software that lets people aim an AR headset at an appliance and load a personalised, guided repair overlay. AI-based image recognition identifies the make, model, and any visible damage, then looks up the relevant documentation and learns how to solve the issue from various sources. Step-by-step instructions appear on screen in plain, jargon-free language, and unresolved problems can be handed to a live technician from a community of repairers who earn commissions. The software connects to existing AR headsets, so no new hardware is needed. It earns through a pay-per-use credit system, bulk deployments, and a commissions marketplace.
The outcome
An affordable, easy-to-access way to guide people through home repairs, helping them fix appliances themselves and call in a technician only when needed.
