The problem
The architectural industry relies on costly, time-consuming manual inspection to confirm that designs meet standards for foundations, stability, insulation, fireproofing and more. Errors and the delays they cause can significantly increase the cost of a project. Today most of these checks only happen after construction has already started, when they are far more expensive to fix.
What we did
We helped build ArchiAI, which uses computer vision and natural language processing to analyse construction drawings and related documents and flag potential errors or deviations from industry standards. Rather than asking firms to learn a new system, we plug into the BIM and CAD software designers already use, so checks happen inside their existing workflow. The platform covers cases from plumbing and electrical to fire safety, structural framing and accessibility. It is offered through bulk subscriptions for firms, pay-per-use access, and an API for integration into other software.
The outcome
We help small and mid-size architectural and engineering firms catch issues at the design stage, reducing the cost and delay of manual inspection.
